Jasmine was so personable and a great person to represent the restaurant. We enjoyed talking to her about the menu and options. Matt made us delicious burgers, fries, Mac salad and cupcakes. I’ve been a loyal customer of Veg Edible for years, since before Stacie’s first official walk in restaurant opened in Benson so you would think that would mean something…. The owner Stacie ignores customers if an issue arises or if given constructive feedback when you dislike something. She also became hostile towards me while dismissing our issues.Example of most recent issue: The “donation cookies” we recently purchased were honestly some of the worst cookies we ever had, we even spit them out and threw them all away. Even had to mouthwash that potent taste out of our mouths…. The cookies were hard as a rock & the frosting had a very odd gross taste to it which surprised us because her cookies are usually mostly pretty good (but a lot of extra sugar!!) I tried communicating with her about this but she was extremely dismissive. I was like, is this a different recipe compared to your other stuff or what’s the deal?!? And nothing but awkwardness.I’ve been trying to stick around and support this restaurant even with most things being overpriced as the idea of an allergen friendly restaurant atmosphere is great but I can’t and will not do the bad energy and rudeness. There are inconsistencies I just don’t like and when you’re paying the price you pay for her food, YES you want it to always hit your expectations…..Also, sure they are allergen friendly but does everyone realize how bad beyond “meat” is for you that they use??? Extremely unhealthy…. And soy is also not good for you then all of the extra sugar and unnecessary ingredients in the food here. Yes vegan and allergen friendly but is it natural and good for you?? Nope. No, thanks. Dare I go on about what types of illnesses and health issues these foods are linked to???? I never ordered any of those items. My favorite place to eat in Omaha! I have been gluten free for almost 15 years and I have never tasted food so good! Their deserts are mind blowing, even my non gluten free partner is obsessed. The lasagne was delicious. Friendly service. Take out was quick. The fries are thick and the owner was attentive and put the salt on the side. I don’t understand why the desserts are so high in sugar. Stacie + Matt are the bees knees of the vegan food scene in Omaha. Nobody is more passionate about making sure everyone has options when it comes to dining out - but not a silly underwhelming option, the option EVERYONE wants regardless of food allergies, dietary restrictions etc. THIS IS JUST DELICIOUS TASTING food. They have a huge menu, lots of diversity in the menu in regard to “meat” replacements which allows you to experience many different flavor and plant textures. I got The Ruby Melt (named after their kitty 🥹) and it was so flavorful, great texture from the grilled bread + burger patty, sweet crunch from the onions, and a little acid from the sauerkraut. Perfectly paired with HAND CUT fries (those are a rarity these days!) and Matt sauce for dipping. I’d take a whole jug of Matt sauce and dip everything it in.Thoughtfully decorated + hand painted interior with a handful of booths if you want to stay and eat. Friendly, service oriented, and passionate about feeding people the best vegan food out there. Veg.edible is my go-to place in town anytime I want to eat out. The number of options on the menu are endless, I still haven't tried everything because I keep going back to my favorites: 1) the hand cut fries (especially dorito dusted) are always a must, these are the best fries I've ever had, my son and I crave them every week!, 2) the Ruby Melt and the Sophie have such great flavors and satisfies that reuben craving, 3) smothered fries, I love the chipotle ranch!, 4) BYOB - when I want a healthier option with my side of fries ;), and 5) the cookie flavors are endless, but I keep coming back to the orange cardamom. Not a bad place. Ordered a couple cakes for our 1 year old bday. They tasted good but we asked for pistachio and got vanilla so that's a bit disappointing but still tasted good. And I do think it's cool they can do gluten free/do gluten free but as someone who doesn't get bothered by gluten I Def think cakes with gluten are much better. Without it they are very very dense. I honestly wouldn't get another smash cake because it's so dense without gluten you can't smash it very well let alone a 1 year old smash it lol. Overall the the custom design was on point, flavors were good(even tho didn't get the one we asked for the sheet cake), and service was good for the 4 minutes we were there lol definitely would maybe try adjusting pricing cause honestly $230+ for the 2 cakes wasn't really worth it imo but what do I know?Edit: Called to confirm pricing for A sandwich and was greatly disappointed to hear they're charging $20 for A sandwich and some fries......dudes/dudettes......wtf??Food: 3/5 | Service: 3/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5Food: 3/5 | Service: 3/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5
